July, 5 months until convention.
I just started working on this and I already know I'll go insane. Obviously my fault for choosing a complicated cosplay but I wanted to up my game a bit - especially since I usually do closet cosplays, and while they do turn out pretty good I wanted to give myself a bit of a challenge. For context, this is the character I'm going for:
This wet cat of a guy. Love him dearly.
I started with making a paper base for the head, going fully off screenshots of the game and model images found on pinterest, and then transferring it to cardboard I've been saving up for at least two years. Don't ask.
The measurements were surprisingly mostly right, the only thing i would change is making it slightly smaller because it's a bit big? Not big enough to look weird and probably no one will notice, but I'll know. I'll know 🥀
Anyways here it is in cardboard and a lot of duct tape!
I'm aware that the top is missing, I ran out of tape so I procrastinated for the rest of the month, so uh. Let's go to August?
August, 4 months until convention.
Something about this cosplay has been haunting me: the labcoat. The flamingo patterned labcoat. It's giving me hell - I have no idea where to find it, I don't know how to sew and I don't have money to commission anyone to make it for me; but do you know what I have money for? Copious amounts of yarn. The cheapest acrylic stuff that they sell at my local yarn shop. I'm gonna make that labcoat out of crocheted granny squares and no one is alllowed to stop me.
Seen my previous experience with crocheting clothes is one singular jacket that took me two whole months, it's not impossible to make a labcoat in four, right? There's gotta be some flamingo granny square tutorial I can follow surely 🥀
